AOC has just announced its very first QD-OLED monitors for the AOC Gaming brand. The company has already featured QD-OLED panel technology in its premium AGON series, but it has now been introduced to the more budget-friendly line-up. Two new monitors have been unveiled – both 27-inch 1440p displays with HDMI 2.1 support.

QD-OLED technology was initially introduced by Samsung as an alternative to traditional OLED monitors developed by LG (WOLED), boasting superior color saturation and overall brightness, while retaining other key benefits of OLED, such as color accuracy and responsiveness. The two new AOC Gaming displays are named the Q27G4ZDR and Q27G4SDR.

QD-OLED enters the mainstream

The Q27G4ZDR and Q27G4SDR represent a significant milestone as the first QD-OLED displays in the AOC GAMING portfolio, which serves as the most affordable gaming category within AGON by AOC. These monitors deliver the same fundamental OLED advantages found in premium displays – virtually infinite contrast ratios, exceptional colour gamut with 147.6% sRGB coverage and 99.1% DCI-P3 accuracy, and QHD (2560×1440) resolution with 110.84 pixels per inch. The 10-bit panel depth provides 1.07 billion colours for smooth gradients and precise colour reproduction. Both models feature HDR capabilities – the Q27G4ZDR supports HDR10 while the Q27G4SDR features VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification – ensuring sharp highlight and shadow detail that helps competitive players read game environments effectively.

Like all OLED monitors in the AGON by AOC range, both models include comprehensive OLED Care features and are backed by a 3-year warranty covering burn-in when used according to the guidelines. This industry-leading warranty coverage provides complete confidence in premium OLED technology at mainstream pricing.

Ultimate refresh rates and instant response

The Q27G4ZDR at 240 Hz provides the ideal balance of smooth competitive performance and visual quality, while the Q27G4SDR pushes refresh rates to 360 Hz for players demanding the maximum competitive advantage. Both monitors achieve the 0.03 ms GtG response times that make OLED technology superior for competitive gaming, virtually eliminating ghosting and motion blur even during the fastest action sequences. Adaptive-Sync technology with NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible certification eliminates screen tearing across variable frame rates, ensuring fluid gameplay at any framerate.

Advanced HDR performance

The Q27G4ZDR supports HDR10 with 400 cd/m² brightness (APL 10%) and 1.5M:1 contrast ratio, while the Q27G4SDR features VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification with 1000 cd/m² peak brightness (APL 3%) for enhanced visual depth. This superior HDR implementation brings out details in both bright and dark scenes, creating more immersive gaming environments.

“These innovative monitors redefine what’s possible in mainstream gaming,” says César Acosta, Gaming Product Manager at AGON by AOC. “By bringing cutting-edge QD-OLED technology to the AOC GAMING lineup, we’re innovating to make next-generation display technology accessible to all gamers. Players get the instant response and superior contrast of OLED panels, plus they can choose between 240 Hz for balanced gaming or 360 Hz for maximum competitive edge, all with the clean G4 design that fits any setup.”

Complete connectivity and gaming features

Connectivity is future-proof with dual HDMI 2.1 ports and DisplayPort 1.4, supporting the latest graphics cards and next-generation consoles. USB 3.2 hubs with fast-charging ports keep gaming peripherals connected and powered. Console compatibility includes QHD @ 120 Hz support for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.

Both monitors include comprehensive gaming features designed for competitive advantage. Shadow Control enhances visibility in dark game areas, Game Color optimises saturation for better clarity, and customisable gaming modes provide optimised settings for different game genres. Low Input Lag mode ensures every command translates instantly to screen action. Anti-Blue Light mode and Flicker-Free technology ensure comfortable extended gaming sessions.

G4 design philosophy for versatile setups

Both monitors feature the latest G4 series design language, emphasising clean lines and subtle styling that complements various gaming environments. The understated aesthetic provides an alternative to more aggressive gaming designs, while maintaining the functional excellence that competitive players demand. 3-sided frameless bezels maximise screen space, while the matte black finish with textured accents creates a refined gaming setup.

The fully ergonomic stands provide 130mm height adjustment along with complete tilt, swivel, and pivot functionality for optimal viewing angles. VESA 100×100 mounting compatibility enables flexible multi-monitor configurations, while integrated cable management maintains clean desk organisation.

Software and accessories

The G-Menu software enables easy customisation of gaming profiles and display settings, while PiP/PbP functionality supports multitasking scenarios. Both monitors include premium 1.8 metres HDMI and DisplayPort cables in the box for immediate setup.

Next-generation QD-OLED gaming

The Q27G4ZDR and Q27G4SDR establish new benchmarks for next-generation gaming technology innovation, bringing QD-OLED’s instant response times and superior visual quality to the mainstream AOC GAMING category. The clean G4 design aesthetic provides setup flexibility, while breakthrough pricing makes OLED gaming accessible to a broader range of competitive players.

Pricing and availability

The AOC GAMING Q27G4ZDR and Q27G4SDR will be available from mid-November 2025 at an MSRP of £399.00 and £469.00, respectively.
