Apple is holding its major September event today, September 9, where the company is expected to reveal its next wave of hardware – new iPhones in particular. The event is called “Surprise and shine,” and while Apple hasn’t officially confirmed exactly what will be shown, reports suggest this could be one of its biggest events in years.

A major reason is Apple’s rumored first foldable iPhone, which is expected to finally make its debut after years of leaks and speculation. The event will also mark an important moment for the company, and it will also be John Ternus’ first major keynote since taking over as Apple CEO from Tim Cook earlier this month. We’ve put together all you need to know.

What time does the September 2026 Apple Event start?

The Apple Event will take place today, on September 9, at 10 AM PT, live from Apple Park in California. If you’re wondering how that translates to your own local time, we’ve compiled a list of different regions below. In some regions, the start time crosses over into the early hours of September 10.

  • Los Angeles – 10 AM PT
  • New York City – 1 PM ET
  • London – 6 PM BST
  • Berlin – 7 PM CEST
  • Mumbai – 10:30 PM IST
  • Tokyo – 2 AM JST (September 10)
  • Sydney – 3 AM AEST (September 10)
  • Auckland – 5 AM NZST (September 10)

Apple will stream the event online, so you don’t need a special invitation to watch it. The presentation will be available through Apple’s official website, the Apple TV app, and the company’s official YouTube channel. We’ve also added a countdown clock below to track the exact hours, minutes, and seconds remaining until it starts. Keep in mind that once it expires, it will disappear.

What to expect from the Apple Event

The biggest announcement is expected to be Apple’s first foldable iPhone. The device has been rumored for years. We’ve seen it called the iPhone Ultra in early listings, but more recently, reports suggest it will be named the iPhone Duo. According to reports, the foldable could feature an outer display measuring around 5.3 to 5.5 inches. Opening the phone would reveal a much larger 7.7 to 7.8-inch display, giving users a screen not far off the size of an iPad mini.

However, Apple’s first foldable could come with an extremely high price tag. Reports have suggested it could cost $2,000 or more. It may also lack a telephoto camera despite its premium price.

The iPhone Ultra/Duo isn’t expected to be the only new iPhone shown during the event. Apple will also likely reveal the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Interestingly, the regular iPhone 18 is expected to be missing from today’s event. Apple is reportedly changing its usual release strategy and splitting the iPhone 18 lineup between two launch periods. The standard iPhone 18, second-generation iPhone Air, and iPhone 18e are reportedly being saved for spring 2027.

Apple’s wearables are also expected to get some attention. The company could announce the Apple Watch Series 12 alongside the more premium Apple Watch Ultra 4. A new Apple Watch SE, however, isn’t expected after the major SE 3 update last year.

Other rumored products include the AirPods 5, new M6-powered Macs, an updated Apple TV 4K, and Apple’s Home Hub. Not all of these devices are guaranteed to appear today, so we’ll have to wait for the presentation to see exactly what Apple has planned.
