For a while now, there has been speculation about Apple working on a new Mac Mini M4, which is said to have had a major redesign. While the company hasn’t been too forthcoming with the details, it might have just confirmed that this mini PC has been redesigned.
As you may have noticed, Apple has been in the news recently. Recently, the company hosted the ‘It’s Glowtime’ event, launching the iPhone 16 series, a new Watch, new AirPods, and more. It is being speculated that Apple will launch the new M4-powered MacBook lineup, Mac Mini M4 series, as well as a new iPad later next month.
Mac Mini M4 will have five USB-C ports, leaker suggests
One of the main reasons why the upcoming Mac Mini M4 is highly anticipated is because the mini PC is speculated to have received a major overhaul. As we reported earlier, the new Mac Mini will be as small as Apple TV, which is roughly half the size of the current Mac Mini. Further, in the same report, Gurman mentioned that the Mac Mini will ditch the USB A ports, and will have 5 USB-C ports instead.
And now, as per a leak, Apple has seemingly confirmed this redesign. According to Aaron’s (@aaronp613) post on X, a line of code taken from Apple’s software mentions that the Mac Mini will have 5 ports, which is in line with what Gurman said a few weeks ago. If this is true, then we can also expect the upcoming Mac Mini to have a smaller design and other tweaks.
The line of code reads:
<string>Apple silicon Mac mini (5 Port)</string>
However, it should be noted that Apple has not confirmed anything about the Mac Mini 4 yet, so this speculation, as always, should be viewed with a grain of salt. Apple is said to be rolling out the Mac Mini M4 series, iPads, and MacBooks in October, which is only a few weeks away.
