Just as ASUS is gearing up for the launch of the ASUS ROG Ally X gaming handheld, the company announced a major update to Armoury Crate Special Edition 1.5 (ACSE 1.5) to go with it.

Ever since it was launched, ACSE, which serves as a control hub for ROG Ally and ROG Ally X, has seen multiple usability upgrades. As per the official announcement, the ACSE 1.5 will bring in more intuitive controls, a new view, better game profile customization, and much more.

ACSE 1.5 brings new UI, profile customization, and easy access to updates

The highlight of this major overhaul is the new UI. ROG Ally users will now be introduced to a console-like interface that aims to be more intuitive. Plus, much like the dark, users can now switch to a new Light Mode.

The Game Library view has also received a new feature. Players can now quickly uninstall games from this view – a feature that had been highly requested by the community. The Game Library view will also have a search option, making it easier for users to find games. And with the new ‘My Favorites’ tab, players can bookmark their preferred games for easy access.

The new ACSE update will also allow users to fine-tune performance and controls to their liking for each game. Players will be able to individually enable or disable Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF), and Radeon Anti-Lag. In addition to this, users can import and export their custom Game Profile settings and share their optimized configurations with the ROG Ally community.

What else will Armoury Crate SE 1.5 deliver?

Beyond game management, Armoury Crate SE 1.5 also aims to deliver a one-stop hub for all the system updates, which includes BIOS updates, driver installations, and more. Aside from this, the new update retains all the tweaks from previous versions – support for gyroscope controls, an adjustable TDP slider, and calibration tools for precise gyro and joystick sensitivity.

Overall, it seems like with ACSE 1.5, ASUS ROG aims to create a control hub for users that is easy to use but offers advanced customization options. Just in time for those out there looking to buy the ASUS ROG Ally X.
