The Black Friday sales are arguably one of the best times of the year to buy a new monitor for less, with huge discounts being seen even weeks before the day itself. This year, we think it may even be one of the best years to score savings on newer technology, too, as it has been a while since we’ve seen any major changes in monitor tech.

Both QD-OLED and 360hz/ 1440p are some of the newer types of monitor, and we’d expect these to get decent, but not mind-blowing, discounts. On the other hand, 4K, 120hz displays (or HDMI 2.1 monitors as they used to be referred to) should see significant reductions this year, as they are now very much commonplace and the go-to for PC and console gamers alike.

On the more productivity and design end of the spectrum, we’re anticipating some big savings, too. 4K displays or above and ultrawide options for video editors are worth keeping an eye out for. That said, Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, and Micro Center have kicked off their Black Friday sales. We’re even seeing brands like ASUS and LG participate on their respective websites.

We found this ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG on sale for $100, bringing it down to $699.99. For LG, the 32″ UltraGear OLED 4K monitor caught our eye, as it has $400 shaved off from its original price of $1,399. However, if you’re looking for something simple, we found this 31.5″ Dell S3222HN Curved Monitor on Amazon for 35% off and SAMSUNG 34-inch ViewFinity for 45% off.

We also saw a good variety of monitors at Best Buy, but Newegg seems to be lacking in this department. That said, we did spot this ASRock PHANTOM GAMING 34″ 2K at Newegg on sale for $198.77. Best Buy has the Acer Nitro Gaming 31.5″ curved monitor that we think is worth checking out. So, there are plenty of deals to explore, and you should find a monitor that suits your needs perfectly.
