When will Black Friday monitor deals start in 2025?
This year, Black Friday falls on the 28th of November, though as usual we’ll see lots of early deals cropping up weeks in advance, likely from early November. Whilst the number of deals will be greatest during the sale itself, if you spot a good offer in the weeks before you may want to snap it up rather than wait, as stocks on that particular offer could run out if it’s a popular product.
How to get the best monitor deals on Black Friday 2025
Prepare: It’s best to note the products that you really want to pick up on Black Friday, alongside their current price, as well as a few retailers you’re going to make sure you check. That way, when the price drops, you’ll know a good deal when you see one.
Compare: If you see a deal that you like, it’s key that you compare prices to ensure that it is the best possible deal. Offers can change quickly, particularly on Black Friday itself, so knowing what prices are being offered elsewhere is key.
Check before you buy: Ensure the deal you’re going for is one you want and you’re picking the best monitor for you. Investing in a monitor should get you a product you’re happy with, including all the features you need.
Features to consider when looking for a Black Friday monitor deal
- Screen size & resolution: Bigger isn’t always better, so make sure you have space and really feel you need a larger monitor if you’re going for one. On a 32-inch sized screen, 1080p resolution would lack sharpness, so we’d go for 1440p/1600p or 4K. Conversely 4K resolution on a 27-inch model (or smaller) might be a bit overkill (unless you have a specific need for it for creative or productivity workflows). Consider that playing games on higher resolutions will require more GPU and CPU power and will lower your Frames Per Second (FPS).
- Refresh rate: If you’re playing games, you’ll want to aim for 120Hz refresh rate and above so you can actually experience the FPS your computer is capable of producing in-game. Some of the newest models of monitor offer refresh rates as ridiculously high as 500Hz, but this is far above what 90% of consumers will need and you get diminishing returns in terms of the difference your eyes can perceive as you go higher. For those interested in competitive online play, 240Hz or higher is a good point to aim for, single player gamers can manage with less, particularly at higher resolutions – 4K gaming monitors typically max out at 120Hz, though some of the new ones go as high as 240Hz. If you’re not gaming, you can get by with a 60Hz display, although it will be easier on your eyes if you get something that runs a bit faster.
- Adjustability: Not all monitors allow you to adjust the height and tilt. If you do need these features from a monitor, ensure you’re not buying one with a fixed stand.
Will many monitors be on sale during Black Friday?
