Thanks to another Microsoft masterclass, we now know a bunch about what Windows 11 encompasses in terms of the new look and feel, as well as the whole host of new features to enjoy.
But, the question on many people’s minds is if their current PC will actually be able to run Windows 11. With this article, we hope to give you all the information you need to determine whether you can get the new OS installed, or whether you need to go out and buy a new system altogether.
Can I run Windows 11? Is a pretty difficult question for us to answer without any prior knowledge of what your current system has to offer. However, what we can give you is the general rule based on past Windows updates.
In the main, if you own and run the current Windows version i.e. Windows 10, you’re highly likely to be able to run Windows 11. However, if you own a legacy machine that has already been through the wringer when it comes to the different Windows editions, you might be left wanting. While the official release of Windows 11 is yet to be unveiled to the public in downloadable form, Microsoft has detailed the minimum system requirements needed for your PC to run the new OS. We’ve also added a recommended system requirements list for what we think you should have in your PC so that you can be sure your system isn’t at max capacity.
