- User guide
Setup is a doddle, connect your power cable, connect it to the computer, and add your consumables (there is a roll of paper already inside). For anyone unfamiliar with this you need to partially feed your till roll out of the top. When clicking the top lid back down the printer will calibrate and sort itself out, spitting out a bit of unwanted till roll.
Design
The Epson TM-T20II is drop-loaded (top) and you are required to press a large button to access the consumable holder. This is a very functional printer so the catch you need to press is big, sticks out, and sits front and center. This unit’s power comes in the form of a power brick that saves on space and keeps the printer quite compact. Furthermore, if there is a power issue you can replace the brick whereas older models that had the power internally needed to be completely replaced.
This printer features your standard USB interface at the rear and can work as shown in our images or vertically, with two small holes for rubber feet. You can also wall mount this with the included bracket if needs be, so overall it is pretty versatile.
Printing results & speed
Despite being the older-gen model this spits out clear, quality results. With a print speed of 200mm per second, it’ prints fast enough for any bustling business in the retail sector, without compromising on quality. The TM-T88V prints faster but the difference is negligible.
There is little else to say, it is very easy to operate, and changing the consumable roll is as straightforward as it comes. As many shop assistants will know, this may start to play up as you get towards the end of the till roll which can sometimes on rare occasions lead to a potential jam but it’s a quick fix. Affordable, functional, and reliable, you can’t ask for much more from a receipt printer.
