The tech industry is currently going through a major memory crisis, and it’s making things difficult for both manufacturers and consumers. Rising costs of RAM and storage are pushing companies to either increase prices or rethink their products. One of them, Ayaneo, has now announced that price hikes are on the way.

In a recent email sent to customers (snapped by Steam Deck HQ), Ayaneo confirmed that “many products” will see a price increase soon. The company did not share exact details about which handhelds will be affected or when the changes will go live. However, it made it clear that the increases are coming, and advised any interested customers to buy now, before prices go up.

Stock levels are also low or limited

Alongside the price hike announcement, Ayaneo also shared updates about product availability. Several of its handhelds are either running low on stock or will be limited moving forward. Devices like the Pocket VERT and Pocket S Mini are already close to selling out, while others like the Pocket DS are only available in small pre-order batches. Some models will also be relaunched later in phases, depending on production capacity.

  • Pocket VERT & Pocket S Mini – Limited stock, sold on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Pocket DS – Pre-order available, only around 200 units available for now
  • Pocket FIT G3 Gen 3 & Pocket FIT 8Elite – To be relaunched in phases
  • KONKR FIT – “Production will be limited and based on actual order volume”

The company is also wrapping up one of its promotions. The offer that included a free Pocket Mini with the Pocket S Mini will end soon, giving buyers only a short window to take advantage of it. At the same time, Ayaneo hinted that future production for some devices will depend on demand, meaning availability could remain limited.

These changes are not surprising given the current situation in the market. The ongoing memory shortage, combined with high demand from AI-focused industries, is driving component prices up across the board.

It’s also worth noting that this isn’t the first major decision Ayaneo has made recently. The company recently suspended sales of the Ayaneo Next 2. That device was expected to start at $1,999, with high-end versions going up to $4,299. However, due to rising memory costs, Ayaneo said it would start losing money on each unit, forcing it to pause sales for now. Those who already pre-ordered the device will still have their purchase honored.
