Larian, the developer behind Baldur’s Gate 3, just released the patch 7 update. This update was highly anticipated as it was supposed to bring significant changes to the games as well as new content. Along with evil endings for Origin characters and Legendary Actions, the update also brought in support for mods. Players can now publish their mods, debug them, and do more with the in-game editor. Plus, they also get access to a mod manager, which players can use to find the mods.

This update was announced officially by Larian. In the announcement, it was mentioned that this update is available for PC at the moment. For Mac and consoles, the patch 7 will be rolled out later in October. However, it is not yet known when mods will be supported on GeForce Now.

When will BG3 mods come to GeForce Now?

As per a Reddit post, users are asking GFN to add support for Baldur’s Gate 3. “I don’t know if the GFN team reads this subreddit, but on the GFN app you can send feedback. Make sure to ask for mod support if you are interested. It’s probably the best way for us to be heard,” the author said in the post.

The post went on to mention that Nvidia GeForce Now has added mod support for Deep Rock Galactic, World of Warcraft, and other games, so it should also added for Baldur’s Gate 3. “They said yesterday they’re working on mod support and they will announce when it will be available,” another user pointed out.

Nvidia’s response

Yesterday, Nvidia posted an official response regarding this. “We know today’s update adds Mod support, but these Mods are currently not supported on GeForce NOW,” Nvidia wrote in a Reddit post. It also mentioned that the company is looking into adding mod support for GeForce Now premium members in the future. No date or estimation was provided in this post.

Furthermore, Nvidia went on to explain in an official support post that if you try to load a previous game save that has mods enabled through GeForce Now, you will be met with the following warning: “Mod Issues Detected”. Considering this can lead to “game instability” and potentially loss of your saved game files” we’d have to recommend against it.

As mentioned earlier, Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 7 update was released yesterday. It is a massive update that requires players to download 11.6GB of files and also need to have 160GB of free space on their drive.
