Right now, we think it’s safe to say that Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the best games for modding right now. Developer Larian opened up official mod support with Patch 7, and we’ve seen nearly half a year of bigger and better mods coming to the forefront. We’ve covered a bunch of these on PC Guide, even speaking to the guys behind one of the most ambitious, Path to Menzoberranzan.
However, moving swiftly on to another mod we’ve come across. The Heroes of the Storm mod for Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available via Nexus Mods and introduces some of Blizzard’s most iconic characters to the world of BG3. Yes, the same Blizzard behind the likes of Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch.
Heroes of the Storm mod is now available for Baldur’s Gate 3
Heroes of Storm is Blizzard’s answer to the MOBA genre, originally launching back in 2015. While it hasn’t enjoyed the same amount of sustained success as rivals such as League of Legends and Dota 2, HotS remains an amalgamation of Blizzard’s most recognizable characters and franchises in one place, making it a great place to pull inspiration from.
This mod introduces basic abilities and skills (in the form of feats in BG3) from seven characters in Heroes of the Storm: Arthas, Diablo, Illidan, Kerrigan, Kharazim, Raynor, and Uther.
Arthas: The Lich King
- Frostmourne Hungers
- Death Coil
- Howling Blast
- Frozen Tempest
Diablo: Lord of Terror
- Black Soulstone
- Shadow Charge
- Fire Hands
- Overpower
Illidan: The Betrayer
- Betrayers Thirst
- Dive
- Sweeping Strike
- Evasion
Kerrigan: Queen of Blades
- Assimilation
- Ravage
- Impaling Blades
- Primal Grasp
Kharazim: Veradani Monk
- Iron Fists
- Radiant Dash
- Breath of Heaven
- Deadly Reach
Raynor: Renegade Commander
- Give ’em Some Pepper
- Penetrating Round
- Inspire
- Adrenaline Rush
Uther: The Lightbringer
- Eternal Devotion
- Holy Light
- Holy Radiance
- Hammer of Justice
It’s important to note that we’re simply looking at feats inspired by the HotS abilities rather than full characters right now. Who knows, perhaps the mod’s creator, Yoonmoonsick, has something bigger planned in the future, but we haven’t seen anything to suggest that yet. As pointed out by a user in the mod’s comments, there’s “a LOT of material to enhance” this mod even further out there.
