Battlefield 6 is actually playable without a dedicated graphics card, even on an older 5000 series Ryzen APU

Battlefield 6 is one of the biggest games of the year. It’s set to release on October 10, but players already got a chance to try it out thanks to the Open Beta, which will reopen soon. It gave fans a taste of what EA and DICE have been working on, and the overall feedback has been positive. Players enjoyed the gameplay, the visuals, and the large-scale action the series is known for.
And there’s another thing to be impressed by – Battlefield 6 can actually run without a dedicated graphics card and still be playable. That’s right, someone played it on an old CPU with integrated graphics and got decent performance.
Battlefield 6 benchmarks on the Ryzen 5 5600G
A YouTube channel called AMD APU Gaming decided to test Battlefield 6 on an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G. This is a processor from 2021 that has integrated Vega 7 graphics, which means it doesn’t need a separate GPU. The latest AMD APUs are the 8000 series chips, led by the flagship 8700G – the best AMD Ryzen APU right now.
They ran the game at 1080p resolution with low settings and used FSR to improve performance. With FSR set to Quality mode, the game ran smoothly with 45 to 50 FPS. When switched to Ultra Performance mode, the frame rate reached 60 FPS, which is pretty impressive. They then decided to try the Balanced mode, which caused the FPS to drop to around 30. But when they turned on FSR Quality with Frame Generation, it jumped back up to 60 FPS.
The results are pretty impressive. Battlefield 6 is a large and graphically rich game, and yet an older CPU with integrated graphics can run it. This shows that the game is well-optimized, at least for the lower settings. It also proves that FSR and frame generation can make a huge difference for players with weaker hardware. Of course, the visuals aren’t as sharp or detailed as they would be on high-end PCs. But if you’re just looking to play and enjoy the game, this setup works.
