Bose QuietComfort 2nd Gen price, release date, and specs leaked ahead of launch
Bose could soon be refreshing its standard QuietComfort headphones, as a new leak has revealed what appears to be the first major details about the upcoming model. The information comes from billbil-kun, a leaker with a strong track record. According to the leak, Bose is preparing to launch the QuietComfort (2nd Gen) next month.
The current-gen QuietComfort headphones debuted in September 2023 as the successor to the QC45, offering up to 24 hours of battery life and industry-leading active noise cancellation at a lower price than the premium QuietComfort Ultra. While the Ultra lineup received a second-generation refresh last year, the standard QuietComfort model has remained unchanged. However, if the leak is accurate, that is about to change.
Second-generation Bose QuietComfort expected on August 7
According to billbil-kun, Bose will officially announce the QuietComfort (2nd Gen) on August 7, with pre-orders expected to open the same day. The headphones are then said to launch on August 13.

According to the leaked information, Bose has redesigned the headphones with pill-shaped ear cushions and a wider adjustable headband featuring additional synthetic leather to improve comfort during long listening sessions. The headphones are also expected to support Bose TrueSpatial, which aims to provide a more immersive listening experience across different types of content. Another major addition is lossless audio over USB-C, allowing users to enjoy higher-quality wired playback through the USB-C port instead of using it solely for charging.
Noise cancellation is also said to be improving. The leak claims Bose has refined its ActiveSense technology to better smooth out sudden loud sounds while using Aware mode. New listening modes are reportedly being introduced as well, including Immersion, Cinema Mode, and an ANC Off mode, replacing the more limited custom mode system found on the current model. Despite all of these upgrades, battery life is said to remain unchanged. The headphones are expected to offer up to 24 hours of playback with active noise cancellation enabled, or 18 hours when using the TrueSpatial immersive audio mode.
As for the price, the Bose QuietComfort (2nd Gen) will reportedly launch at $359 in the United States, €349.95 across Europe, and £299.95 in the United Kingdom. The US price is reportedly staying the same as the current model despite the addition of several new features.
As always, none of these details have been confirmed by Bose, so they should be treated as unofficial for now. However, given billbil-kun’s strong history of accurate leaks, there’s a good chance the official announcement could arrive exactly as reported in the coming weeks. Recent leaks from the same source include Google’s new Pixel 11 series phones and Pixel Watch 5.
