Steam just added a classic Star Wars game to its library, and guess what, it actually plays well on the Steam Deck.

Star Wars Bounty Hunter is a classic Star Wars game that was initially released on November 19th, 2002 on the PS2, and has now finally come to Steam in 2024. Not only can you play it on your PC, but if you have a Steam Deck it turns out this ancient is also Steam Deck verified. So you can capture Dark Jedi on the go – if that’s your thing.

Thanks to Bounty Hunter coming to Steam on August 1st, 2024, you can enjoy a 10% introductory offer, which has become commonplace on Steam recently. And let’s be honest, while $17.99 (or £16) may seem a little steep for a game that was released over 20 years ago, I’ve seen avid Star Wars fans pay a lot more for a lot less, trust me.

Steam Deck players can roll the clock back with this classic entry to Steam

If you’re worried about running this game on your device, don’t. Under the system requirements, it may as well say “hamster on a wheel” You’ll need to nab yourself a blistering 64-bit processor, and a GTX 1060 if you want to play to the recommended system requirements.

Overall, it looks pretty presentable for a game of its age, and it’s difficult to overstate the value of some of these earlier Star Wars games, so it’s nice to see a pure classic made playable again to a whole new audience.

If you’re worried about the game being a bad port or somewhat unplayable, 11 of the game curators I follow have reviewed this game as of the time of writing (approximately 1 day before release) and all of them have given this game a glowing review, despite this being the same studio that remastered Battlefield I and II, which was very poorly received.

If you long for the days when the PS2 was the console to beat, and back when you could count the polygons of your character on one hand, then this will be a fantastic blast from the past for you. You can enjoy Star Wars Bounty Hunter with 10% off for the next 40 hours (as of the time of writing).

So what are you waiting for? Go capture some Jedi.
