CD Projekt Red has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 is about to receive some extra items and features, nearly six years after the game was first released – and leakers have managed to get a sneak peek of the brand-new content. The new Update 2.5 patch will be available to download tomorrow (October 22) and will include some new content inspired by season two of the franchise’s popular anime adaptation, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, as it is officially stylized, premiered on Netflix this Monday, October 20, to largely positive reviews. Fans of the series have already been binging the second season, which consists of 10 episodes around 25 minutes in length, with one person sharing that “They have outdone themselves” following the success of the first season. Edgerunners is produced by CD Projekt Red and Japanese studio Trigger.

In a now-removed (copyright removal request) YouTube video from WesNemo, the leaker claims Update 2.5 will introduce two new side quests: Clampdown and Welcome to Paradise. WesNemo also details more content for the existing Fool on the Hill minor job quest, which adds 12 Minor Arcana tarot cards hidden throughout Night City. Collecting all 12 is said to give the player a special reward, though exactly what you receive remains a mystery.
- Clampdown
- Playable prequel to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, with the reward reportedly being a five-piece outfit inspired by Weak Kingsley from the anime (formerly known as King).
- Welcome to Paradise
- A guided tour of Night City narrated by its founder, reportedly accessible after The Heist, when players reach Street Cred level 15.
As officially teased by CDPR, the leaker also talks about the new dual-wielding mechanic, said to be unlocked via a new Double Trouble perk in the Cool attribute tree. WesNemo also says the mechanic will have four supporting perks. Players will be able to wield two Power-category pistols/revolvers; Tech and Smart weapons are not compatible.
Another thing mentioned by CDPR is the cyberware customization, and the leak details this too – five ‘Glamdocs’ businesses with unique vendors, marked by spray-paint icons on the map, will allow players to customize Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, and the Projectile Launch System.
Console modding is also mentioned in the leak, with integrated mod.io support across the following platforms: PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. CD Projekt Red’s previous title, The Witcher 3, already offers console mod support through the same avenue, so you can probably expect it to work in the same way.
This is just a summary of what’s to come in Update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077, and it’s looking to be a massive patch. There’s also mention of a new radio station with music from the Edgerunners anime, PC improvements such as DLSS 4.5 support with 6x MFG and DMFG, and much more. We look forward to CDPR’s official stream later today to see how much of this can be confirmed.
