Although gamers have been testing DLSS 5 on all kinds of games and hardware (including AMD Radeon GPUs) via mods, the technology is only officially available in NBA 2K27 following its release on September 3rd. Now, Nvidia has announced that the fifth-gen tech – which features Neural Rendering – will be officially supported in Hogwarts Legacy “in the coming weeks”.

DLSS 5 will also be available in Where Winds Meet, though these represent just a fraction of the DLSS 5 games list announced back when Nvidia first unveiled the technology in March, at GTC. On October 16th, which also marks the date RTX Spark-powered laptops will be widely available (they’re already available to pre-order), DLSS 5 performance will also be doubled in NBA 2K27.

Nvidia has massively improved the performance of DLSS 5 since its original unveiling, when the company was using two flagship RTX 5090 cards to power the new Neural Rendering technique, with one dedicated to the feature. Overall, the feature’s performance is up by 10x. DLSS 5 is officially supported on RTX 50 series GPUs and RTX Spark devices. Nvidia says official support for RTX 40 will come at a later date.

The DLSS 5 October update reduces neural network footprint by 24% to around 118 million parameters, while cutting 4K VRAM usage by 20%. These optimisations halve the GPU overhead compared with September’s version while maintaining comparable visual fidelity.

Aside from the DLSS 5 news, today Nvidia has introduced a faster Performance Mode for Frame Generation. The new Preset C option is available for RTX 40 and RTX 50 series GPUs, and RTX Spark laptops. By replacing the second AI model used for optical-flow calculations with a lighter algorithm, it can improve Frame Generation performance by up to 35% on an RTX 5060, although with minor image-quality trade-offs.
