Elden Ring Nightreign still carries the 60 FPS lock, but someone will likely fix it with a mod again

The new Elden Ring Nightreign game is coming out in not too long a time now, at midnight BST in fact, opening up the new standalone game for you to enjoy. Even before then, reviews of the game have been released, giving us insight into its performance and what you can expect from it before you buy. One such technicality is that it appears to be locked to 60 FPS, much like Elden Ring.
PCGH.de goes over some of the technical details of the game, and the framerate lock is one of them. Continuing the trend of the Japanese engine choices of locking down the performance. That does benefit any sort of PC build and console, though, and you can expect a steady framerate throughout.
Just looking at the Nightreign system requirements, you don’t need anything too intensive, and you might have hardware that is capable of a lot more. That’s where the modding community might help out, much like the FPS unlocker for Elden Ring, we might get to see one being made for Nightreign as well, for you to enjoy an unlocked framerate.
Uncapped Nightreign might not be advisable
Although it might be able to be modded, Nightreign is different from Elden Ring. It’s now a multiplayer game, and it’s recommended to be played with three people in a team. Since it is an online game, you can expect to see an anti-cheat solution, and using mods may not end well and is likely not recommended for use.
Previously, we saw Capcom banning Monster Hunter Wilds players for using mods to bypass locked content (understandably), though we’ll have to wait and see if an FPS unlocker will cause any havoc in Nightreign. And, of course, it isn’t developed by Capcom.
Even though you can play the game solo, it’s still co-op-based and built around that unless you stay offline. Since the current nlock mod already suggests not using it for modding PVP or Tourneys, Nightreign may not get to be moddable. Guess we’ll just have to wait for a few days, if not hours, after the release to see what comes out, as no doubt Nexus mods will start to fill up soon enough.
As of now, the Elden Ring category has over 5,900 mods to go through, with over 44 million downloads. So the standalone Nightreign is possibly going to be just as active.
