Freshly updated Baldur’s Gate 3 ‘Mega Pack’ mod features over 600 new items, with even more to come

When it comes to game modding, Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the best titles out there. With Patch 8 soon here, it will only get better, with one popular BG3 creator claiming that it “has the potential to overcome Skyrim” in the mod department. There are a ton of mods to sink your teeth into, from small technical fixes to stuff that is a little more absurd.
Not all mods are ambitious, but today we bring you ‘Ancient Mega Pack + REL (random loot)’ – a custom mod available on mod.io that was recently updated on March 10th. The standalone mod has been in development since September 2023.
What do you get in the Ancient Mega Pack mod?
As we said, it’s a standalone mod; in other words, it doesn’t rely on any other mods to work. Described as the “the biggest loot overhaul available for BG3,” this mod essentially makes the gameplay loop a little more roguelike, thanks to randomized loot with a pool of 600+ new items. There’s also a crafting system to make it easier to discover this wide range of items. It is also available on console, though updates will be “slightly delayed due to moderation” on non-PC platforms.
