Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked is one of the company’s biggest events of the year (two are typically hosted each year). It sets the stage for new announcements – smartphones, wearables, and other new Galaxy products.

Every year, millions of fans tune in to see what Samsung has been working on. If you’ve been waiting for this year’s event, the good news is that the wait is almost over, as Galaxy Unpacked July 2026 is taking place today.

What to expect from this year’s Galaxy Unpacked event

This year’s Galaxy Unpacked is expected to focus primarily on Samsung’s next-gen foldable smartphones. Rumors suggest the company will unveil three foldables instead of the usual two. Alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which is rumored to become the true successor to last year’s Fold model. Another new addition is expected to be the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, a foldable with a shorter and wider design that is said to offer a tablet-like experience thanks to its different aspect ratio.

The Fold 8 Ultra is also rumored to feature a redesigned hinge that reduces the visibility of the display crease, while the Flip 8 is expected to receive a more modest refresh with updated hardware, improved performance, and a less noticeable crease. Samsung already unveiled its Flex Titanium display technology last week to give us a sneak peek.

The event is also expected to include two new smartwatches: the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Both devices are rumored to feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, which is designed to improve performance, efficiency, and AI capabilities.

Beyond hardware, Samsung is expected to share more information about its Galaxy Glasses project after teasing its intelligent eyewear earlier this year. The company may also introduce One UI 9.5, which is expected to debut on the new foldable devices. While Samsung hasn’t revealed much about the software yet, it’s likely to include optimizations designed specifically for foldable phones, along with additional AI-powered features.
