The original Gears of War has been remastered. Believe it or not, it has been nearly 19 years since the original arrived on the Xbox 360 and became an instant hit. Gears of War: Reloaded is launching across a wide range of consoles as well as PC today (August 26), and if you’re excited for launch, we can explain exactly when you can get your hands on it.

Gamers should now be able to pre-load the game on Steam. Those of you looking for some extra goodies might be happy to know that if you get there in time before it launches, it’s your last chance to snag some pre-order bonuses: exclusive skins for Anya Stroud and Adam Fenix for multiplayer.

When does Gears of War: Reloaded launch on PC?

Gears of War: Reloaded will launch at 3 PM UTC on August 26. To see how that looks in your region, we’ve converted that into a bunch of timezones just below. Plus, our countdown clock will let you know exactly when it is available. If you don’t see the clock ticking down just above, then that means release time has arrived.

The game will also come with some launch day improvements, so those of you who have been enjoying the beta might notice some changes to weapon balance (particularly the Gnasher shotgun) and improved stability. PC gamers get improved support, and the devs also confirm optimization for the upcoming ROG Xbox Ally handhelds and Verified status for the Steam Deck.

Gears of War: Reloaded has been optimized for modern systems, supporting up to 144 FPS in multiplayer as well as 4K resolution and ultrawide monitor support. You may be surprised to hear that this remake is even being released on PlayStation 5 – the first time the franchise is available on a rival console.
