Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 release date confirmed for September – price also revealed
At the Made by Google event, the company introduced the new Google Pixel Buds Pro 2, and the pair seems to be quite an upgrade over its predecessor. They are currently available in the following colors: Hazel, Peony, Porcelain, and Wintergreen.
To start with, Google developed a new Tensor A1 chip just for these earbuds. And thanks to the new chip, the earphones come with improved audio processing, active noise cancellation, and better battery life.
To be more specific, the new Pixel Buds Pro provide 2x better quality of Active Noise Cancellation than the first-gen Buds Pro. Further, on a single charge, the battery can last up to 12 hours and 48 hours with the case.
One of the major highlights here is that the Buds Pro 2 comes with Gemini. With this, users can interact with the AI platform and use it to make playlists, brainstorm ideas, get directions, and it can even read emails. On the outside, the buds are now lighter and smaller, so Google claims that it gives a more snug fit. Plus, it comes with a new ‘twist and fit' functionality so users can wear them more comfortably.
As mentioned earlier, the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 is priced at $229, which is slightly pricier than its predecessor – the Buds Pro, which launched at $199. However, considering that the Buds Pro 2 has received significant upgrades, the price increase does not come as a surprise.
Google has scheduled the release of Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 on September 26th, which is in a few weeks. After the launch, users will be able to purchase the new pair of headphones on Amazon, BestBuy, as well as Google's own website.
