GTA 6 is going to look even better on PC, Rockstar confirms trailer 2 was “entirely” on PS5

Rockstar Games recently dropped a brand-new trailer for GTA VI, giving fans a closer look at the game’s graphics, characters, and a bit more storyline to look forward to. At the end of the trailer, the studio also confirmed that the latest entry in the GTA series won't be coming to PC at launch. Instead, only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are listed for release on May 28th next year.
Once again, Rockstar took to X to share another key detail about Trailer 2, confirming that it was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5. This means that all those stunning visuals were rendered in real time using the game's engine, and what you see reflects how the game looks and performs on PS5 (assumedly the original model, not the PS5 Pro).

A ray-traced-focused future for GTA 6?
Although no technical details were shared in the trailer, the growing number of games relying on real-time lighting and reflections suggests that GTA 6 could follow the same path. However, on consoles, developers need to balance these advanced graphics settings carefully so they aren't too demanding.
That's less of a concern for PC users, thanks to the flexibility of hardware upgrades. Hopefully, this doesn’t mean ray tracing as a minimum requirement, like you’ll find in games such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and the upcoming DOOM: The Dark Ages.
This means that when the game eventually arrives on PC, we could see some significant visual upgrades that set it apart from the console version, with support for features like FSR, DLSS, higher resolutions, and better frame rates. Just like we saw with the recent GTA V Enhanced update for PC. For now, there's no confirmed release date for the PC version, so we'll have to wait and see what kind of graphics settings and features will be available at launch on current-gen consoles.
