2024 was a great year for AMD fans. From successful launches to strong sales, they witnessed it all. Intel, on the other hand, has been struggling with a few different issues, and their latest Core Ultra series wasn't a success either. It seems like AMD will still be strong in 2025, as the latest CPU sales report shows it will continue to dominate the charts.

AMD continues to dominate the CPU sales charts

TechEpiphany regularly shares CPU sales reports from large German retailer Mindfactory on their X account. The latest one, which covers the month of February 2025, shows that AMD sales are still going strong.

According to the latest sales report, AMD sold 14,380 units (89.9%) in February, while Intel sold only 1,615 units (10.1%). As for the exact processors, the most sold CPU was the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, with 2,590 units sold, followed by the 7600X3D, which had 2,270 units sold. Just below them was the Ryzen 5 7500F, which had 940 units sold.

As seen in previous CPU sales reports, Intel is still nowhere near the top 10. Their most sold CPU was the Core i5-14600KF, which only sold 190 units. The next one was the i7-14700K, with just 70 units sold. This shows that AMD is still dominating the CPU sales charts, and Intel isn't even close to catching up.

Intel hasn't released anything groundbreaking for some time, and recently, ex-Intel executive Raja Koduri claimed that the company's biggest issue isn't manufacturing delays but cultural problems. He mentioned that the slow progress is all because of a “learned helplessness” inside the company, which prevents engineers from pushing forward or taking risks.

To come close to AMD in the sales charts, Intel needs to create something equivalent to the X3D, which is designed specially for gaming. While the company confirmed they plan to increase cache size in the future, a report claimed that Intel views gaming as “too small a market.”

Do you think the RX 9070 or RTX 5070 is better value for money (both $549 MSRP)?
