One of the new generation Intel processors has been dropped to a tempting price that might make it worth considering buying to get a strong value. As the Core Ultra 7 265K has got a top Prime Day deal, even though we weren’t favorable to it in our review, the new price does make it an appealing choice.
Right now, you can get the 265K for a 36% discount on Amazon. The Prime Day deal, which runs until the 11th of July, cuts down $145 of the $404 asking price, and instead makes it $259. Performance
Here are the results from our 265K review and benchmarking. Although with the recent 200S boost, that has been improved, so the recent performance is likely to be much improved.
Why buy the 265K
The 265K is based on the LGA 1851 socket, the first on there. So we’d expect to see the platform last for a while, giving you a cheap entry on the platform that you could upgrade down the line. As the CPU is still a good option for a middle ground between gaming and creative workloads, it gives it flexibility and strong value.
According to price tracking site CamelCamelCamel, seen in the graph below, it’s only recently dropped down to this new low price. Having hung around the $290, it dropped to this new low of $259 in June and bounced back after the sale ended. So now is the second-best time to buy it before it goes back up again.
