inZOI already has a Frame Generation mod for “any GPU” which is perfect for older cards

The brand-new life simulator inZOI, which many people compare to The Sims, has been released into early access. Reaction has generally been positive so far, as reflected in its Steam reviews. While it may not run great on handhelds like the Steam Deck, forcing the developers to change their stance on compatibility, it seems off to a great start despite not yet being its final form.
Another important aspect of inZOI is the potential for mods. The great news is that we already know that inZOI will be “highly moddable” and official mod support is slated for May. In the meantime, we can turn to sites such as Nexus Mods – introducing the FSR and Frame Generation mod for inZOI.

FSR and Frame Generation mod for inZOI now available
According to the mod’s description, there is “currently no way” to use AMD upscaling or frame gen on Nvidia graphics cards within the game’s settings, but there’s a simple fix that works “on any GPU”. Although this has been uploaded as a mod, it’s more of a DIY tweak – you just have to change some values in one of the game’s config files.
Not only does the mod allow for FSR with Frame Generation, it also allows those with access to DLSS, but not frame gen (such as the RTX 30 series GPU owners), to combine the two performance-boosting technologies. Here’s how to do so – please note that you need to check ‘Hidden items’ in your Windows Explorer ‘View’ settings to browse through AppData.
FSR with AMD Frame Generation
- Locate GameUserSettings.ini in Users\[your user]\AppData\Local\BlueClient\Saved\Config\Windows
- Edit the following values:
- FSR3Value=x (1 = Ultra Performance, 2 = Performance, 3 = Balanced, 4 = Quality, 5 = Ultra Quality)
- FSR3FI=True
DLSS with AMD Frame Generation
- Locate GameUserSettings.ini in C:\Users[your user]\AppData\Local\BlueClient\Saved\Config\Windows
- Edit the following values:
- DLSSValue=x (1 = Ultra Performance, 2 = Performance, 3 = Balanced, 4 = Quality)
- FSR3FI=True
This mod is created by user AKAMuzz and allows those on older hardware to make use of FSR and Frame Generation. For reference, Nvidia’s frame generation solutions are only available to those using RTX 50 and RTX 40 series graphics cards; inZOI doesn’t currently support Multi Frame Gen.
As far as we can see, user response to the mod is nothing but positive. One user writes, “Now I can play normally on my GTX 1050 Ti,” while another remarks, “This is great for my 3 series RTX, makes it very smooth.
