inZOI will be “highly moddable” says developer, as it sets date for official mod support following Denuvo removal

inZOI has been a hot topic lately, mainly because of the game’s “deep and detailed simulation.” Part of the buzz surrounding inZOI also comes from its developers. A recent example of this is the game’s devs taking to inZOI’s official Discord to announce that they have decided to remove Denuvo from the Early Access build following community feedback.
For context, Denuvo is an anti-tamper and digital rights management system that essentially prevents a game from being cracked and illegally distributed after release. However, on the other hand, it also restricts certain aspects of the game, which is something the inZOI community doesn't want. Now that Denuvo will no longer be in the game, players will be able to mod it freely, as the first official mod support launch window has also been unveiled.
First stage of official mod support launches in May, says inZOI developer
According to the developer, the team was committed to making inZOI “a highly moddable game”, and they are sticking to their promise. Following Denuvo’s removal, they also announced that the first stage of mod support will launch in May. This means players will be able to use 3D modelling and animation tools like Maya and Blender to bring their imaginations into the world of inZOI. On top of that, the developers have also stated that, over time, they plan to expand mod support across more areas of the game.

“Throughout this process, we’ve come to understand that Denuvo could negatively impact the player experience far more than we originally anticipated. As a development team committed to putting players first, the decision to remove the anti-tamper solution became a clear one. We will continue to prioritize your feedback and make well-informed decisions throughout our Early Access development.”

Gamers are appreciating this move
As expected, gamers have appreciated the developers’ decision to listen to their fans and make changes based on feedback, something we don't often see from studios lately. That said, this move has also brought some well-deserved attention to the game, with people who weren't aware of inZOI before now adding it to their Steam wishlist after seeing the strong relationship between the community and the developers. So it seems the decision to remove Denuvo from the game worked out for both sides.
