Now that Apple’s September Event has taken place (on September 9), the iPhone 17 release date and pre orders are just around the corner. iPhone releases follow a very similar pattern each year, typically being available to pre-order on the Friday following their unveiling, and then being properly released the Friday after that. The exact same thing is happening this year.
Below we’ve listed all the major online retailers in the US, UK, and Canada where you’ll be able to pre-order and/or buy the new iPhone series. Although listings are not currently live, these retailers sell the latest generation of Apple’s phone every year, so this year will likely be no different. Apple’s website says that iPhone 17 pre orders begin at 5 AM PDT on September 12.

Can you pre order the iPhone 17?
Every year, as far back as we’ve covered iPhone launches, there has been a pre order option available, and it’s no different this year. iPhone pre orders begin on the first Friday after the unveiling of the new phone (which means September 12th this year), and then are released one week after this point (which is when the pre orders go out for delivery).
Is the iPhone 17 series worth buying?
For the base model iPhone 17, there aren’t any major design changes compared to the iPhone 16, however the cumulative effect of the small changes (a bigger screen, higher starting storage, 120Hz ProMotion display, 25W wireless charging, and a new chipset) definitely makes it worth considering if you’re currently using an older phone.
For the Pro and Pro Max variants, the increase in RAM to 12GB is a welcome improvement, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max variant in particular would be worth buying for those interested in photography and videography, thanks to its three 48MP cameras.
How much does the iPhone 17 cost?
The starting price has been at $799 for the previous two generations, and despite ongoing fears of tariffs in the tech industry, Apple has kept this introductory price for the base model. The base storage size increase from 128GB to 256GB also sparked rumors of a price hike, but we’re happy to confirm this isn’t the case.
