Yet another weekly CPU sales report has been shared online. This covers week 40 of 2025 (September 29 – October 5), and the results show that AMD continues to dominate the German retail market. The data is sourced from Mindfactory, one of Germany's biggest PC hardware retailers, and once again, AMD's X3D processors are leading the charts, leaving Intel far behind.
AM5 processors continue to dominate the DIY PC market
According to the report, shared by TechEpiphany, AMD sold 1,570 CPUs, while Intel sold only 210 during the same week. This means AMD held an 88.2% market share, compared to Intel's 11.8%. When it comes to revenue, AMD also came out on top with $452,583, while Intel earned just $45,293. The report also mentions that AMD had a higher average selling price (ASP) of $288, compared to Intel's $216, showing that AMD CPUs are not only selling more units, but people aren’t shying away from some of the high-end options.
The report also breaks down sales by CPU socket type. AMD's AM5 platform continues to be the most popular, with 1,210 units sold, followed by the older AM4 platform, which recorded 360 units. On the other hand, Intel's platforms are struggling. The LGA 1700 socket sold only 130 units, while the newer LGA 1851 socket sold just 70 units.
When looking at specific CPU models, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D was the most sold CPU of the week with 360 units sold, followed by the Ryzen 7 7800X3D with 220 units. The third spot went to the Ryzen 5 7500F, which sold 100 units. AMD's X3D series continues to be the top choice for gamers, thanks to its excellent performance and efficiency. These processors are especially known for their 3D V-Cache technology, which gives them a big boost in gaming, particularly improving 1% lows to reduce stuttering.
