It has been a while now since we heard rumors of a Lenovo Legion Go Lite in development, but now the conversation is being fired up yet again as a fresh leak references the (assumedly) budget-friendly model. On top of that, a ‘Gen Two’ system has also been named in what could be perhaps a blunder on Lenovo’s part.

The Legion Go is one of the more unique gaming PC handhelds on the market thanks to its larger 8.8″ screen, QHD+ resolution, and detachable controllers. However, this is reflected in the price – which is why we’d say demand for a ‘Lite’ version is justifiable, especially if it wants to compete with the ROG Ally or Steam Deck.

‘Legion Go Gen Two’ and ‘Legion Go Lite’ referenced in USB-C Dock specifications

This leak comes courtesy of a post on Reddit, where one eagle-eyed user noticed that documentation for the recently released USB-C Dock claims support for the following systems:

  • Legion Go Gen One
  • Legion Go Gen Two
  • Legion Go Lite

Lenovo recently announced a number of official accessories for the Legion Go, with the official USB-C Dock being one of the most anticipated, hitting the market a year into the handheld’s lifetime. This is the second time we’ve seen mention of multiple models; last month we saw new 7″ and 8″ devices within some FAQs.

What do we know about the Lite?

Nothing is officially revealed about the Legion Go Lite, but it has been suggested that a cut-down version of the device will feature a smaller screen, a simpler design, and drop the detachable gamepad design. These kinds of design changes would make it much more akin to the Steam Deck or ROG Ally, but should also significantly drop the price tag.

This would allow Lenovo to compete with a wider range of PC handhelds, as right now, it’s a little on its own and perhaps too bulky for some – though the 2560 x 1600 resolution does make it tempting.
