Table of Contents
Crusader Kings III has received a huge new update, and while it brings a long list of fixes and quality-of-life improvements, one of the most surprising additions is a crossover with Kingdom Come: Deliverance. As part of the new 1.19 “Scribe” update, players can now spot the protagonist of both KDC games, Henry of Skalitz, who appears as an adventurer in multiple start dates. It’s a fun little addition for fans of the series, and the update also includes more KDC content for players to enjoy.

The update is massive overall, but the Henry crossover is clearly one of the biggest highlights. Alongside that, the game now also includes Trosky Castle as a unique special building, and 19 music tracks from Kingdom Come: Deliverance II have been added to the in-game music player.
Outside of the crossover, the Scribe update makes a lot of meaningful changes to the base game. One of the most useful new additions is the Ledger, which gives players a much easier way to browse important information. It includes pages for characters, wars, titles, cultures, faiths, counties, holdings, and more.

Another important new feature is the Stories system. This makes personal event chains and character-specific situations much easier to follow. Instead of important character stories getting lost in the background, they now appear in a dedicated tab with their own progress and related decisions. This applies to things like pets, unique personal events, and special storylines tied to specific characters.
The update also reworks aging. Older characters can now develop new elder-related traits like fragile bones, clouded eyes, and a withering mind. These are tiered conditions that get worse over time, which makes old age feel more natural and also adds new decisions and events tied to aging rulers.
On top of that, the patch includes a long list of interface upgrades. War losses are now shown more clearly, the outliner is more useful, the character window has been improved, and a large number of new hotkeys have been added. Even the Barbershop and Ruler Designer got updates, giving players more control over visuals and customization.
That said, these are only some of the many changes introduced through the update. For the complete list, you can check out the official update log, which does require plenty of scrolling to get all the way through.
