To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the World of Warcraft franchise, Blizzard teamed up with MSI to launch limited-edition, WoW-themed RTX 4070 Super Slim GPUs. The neat aspect of this deal is that it comes with 5 swappable backplates featuring artwork from different expansions.
Just recently, MSI also unveiled a Black Myth: Wukong-themed RTX 4070 Super, but that, for now, is limited to the Chinese marketplace, it seems. In fact, the game looks set to be so popular that a whole host of AIBs have created their own unique Black Myth: Wukong GPU. However, for fans of World of Warcraft, this should be a great addition to their setup, even if you have a love/hate relationship with the game.
WoW-themed RTX 4070 Super Slim GPU and its backplates
The themed version of this GPU sports a black and gold color scheme, which complements the overall theme, but its magnetically attachable backplates can elevate the aesthetics to the next level.
As previously mentioned, there are five to choose from, but all of them cover the heatsink on the top, which can restrict the airflow.

How you can get the WoW-themed Nvidia GPUs
While MSI hasn’t clarified whether these themed graphics cards will be commercially available, there is a “World of Warcraft Memories” event from August 26th to September 17th.
It is free for everyone to enter, and all you have to do is drop a comment on the campaign post with your favorite WoW memory along with the hashtag “#MSIxWorldofWarcraft.” There are three prize unlock stages:
- World of Warcraft: The War Within 20th Anniversary Collector’s Edition (MSRP $180)
- MSI RTX 4070 Super World of Warcraft Edition Bundle for each winner (MSRP $720)
- One World of Warcraft PC Mode (MSRP $2,290)
