Eagle-eyed tech enthusiasts have spotted a recent filing by PC component manufacturer Gigabyte that sheds light on what new motherboard models can be expected for people who want to build a rig for AMD’s latest AM5 socket. So far, the AM5 supports the Ryzen 7000, 8000, and latest 9000 series processors.
The filing shows some details for Gigabyte Socket AM5 motherboards designed for the Ryzen 9000 series of CPUs, like the recently released flagship Ryzen 9 9950X3D, or the 9800X3D, which has been a fan favorite among gamers. Two chipsets were specified in the filing, namely the B850 and X870 from the latest 800 series boards.

The EEC or Eurasian Economic Commission has been a reliable source of information on upcoming PC components in the past, and these filings specify some high-end motherboards that are sure to be of interest to PC builders who want to squeeze the most performance out of their rig, such as the X870 AORUS TACHYON ICE.
These boards will have AMD's Socket AM5, making them compatible with all of AMD's Ryzen 9000 series of CPUs, including high-end models such as the Ryzen 9800X3D or 9950X3D, both of which have been popular with PC gaming enthusiasts thanks to the additional 3D V-Cache.
