New Geekbench leak shows rumored Nvidia N1X in action for the first time

AMD has been fighting on two fronts, in the CPU market with Intel and in the GPU market with NVIDIA. However, according to recent news, NVIDIA is working on competing in the CPU market with AMD and Intel, taking the competition between the big three to the next level.
The real-world performance of one processor was spotted in the Geekbench database, and this is what we think about it.
NVIDIA N1X Geekbench performance
There are rumors of two processors in development, the N1 and the N1X. The latter is made for desktops and will most likely have more cores and threads to work with and a higher TDP, while the former is made for laptops and will have toned-down specifications.
The N1X was spotted in the Geekbench database, and we have its single-core and multi-core performance numbers. It was tested on an unreleased 8EA3 motherboard from HP, and the test bench was sporting 119.59GB of RAM; whether that was DDR4 or DDR5 wasn't specified.
The CPU has 20 cores, which would put it on the level of the Core Ultra 7 265K, but it is based on the ARM architecture, the same architecture used in Apple processors. The base frequency is 2.81 GHz, and as for the output, it managed to score 3,096 and 18,837 points in the Geekbench 6.2.2 test with the Ubuntu 24.04.1 OS.
If we were to compare this output, it competes well enough with the Core Ultra 7 265K and the Ryzen 7 9700X. The 265K managed 2,988 and 21,730 points in our Geekbench tests while the 9700X delivered 3,376 and 17,290 points.
So, this makes it seem like Nvidia might not be targeting the high-end options right out of the gate, as it may be that it realizes that being a newcomer in the CPU market is an uphill battle, and it can't trade blows, especially with Ryzen processors.
However, it did showcase the capabilities of the GB10 superchip to AI developers, and it also has 20 cores, so it might use the same die for the N1X, but we can't be certain of anything right now, and only time will tell what Team Green is cooking up.
