New Stellar Blade PC mod with over 4,000 downloads set to improve performance of yet-to-be-released title

While Stellar Blade hasn’t officially launched yet, that hasn’t stopped one user from creating a performance mod for the seemingly easy-to-run PC title.
Stellar Blade is set to launch on June 11, 2025, and a playable demo is already available – giving us an early look at how the game performs on PCs and handhelds. On the Steam Deck, performance has proven to be surprisingly solid, thanks in part to the game’s relatively modest minimum system requirements.
However, even games with lighter demands can come with their own set of performance hiccups – like stuttering, lower-than-expected frame rates, or input latency. To address these issues, modder P40L0X has released the Ultimate Engine Tweaks mod on Nexus Mods. It's designed to smooth out the rough edges and enhance overall gameplay, making Stellar Blade an even more enjoyable experience, especially on lower-end hardware.
Lossless improvements
In an FAQ of the mod, the creator highlights that this is just an Engine.ini file that targets optimization within Unreal Engine, without sacrificing visuals or changing graphics settings in the game, except for a couple of more intense ones. It also improves anti-aliasing, sharpening, and results in better upscaling in the game as well, for improved visuals across the board.
The UE optimization is also one of the reasons it’s so quick to launch, the author also mentions. Having tested plenty of other games in the engine, they base these settings on that testing and know what it requires to improve the performance.
There are two files and downloads for the game, depending on whether you have a variable refresh rate or not. It will likely make sure it’s enabled if you have a compatible display and disabled if not to provide a better gaming experience, so be sure to match the one that fits.
So, with over 4,000 downloads already, this can be a great way to make Stellar Blade on PC a lot more enjoyable. But of course, it wouldn’t be a modding community without some of the silly ones, too.
Thomas the Tank Engine in Stellar Blade
You can’t have a moddable game without the addition of everyone’s favorite train, as there is a mod by tenshiken1 that brings Thomas the Tank Engine as the Stalker in the boss challenge mode. Supposedly more experimental than anything, it might just add that bit of extra spice into the game.
