What we like about the Ryzen 5 9600X and Team Group 16GB DDR5 RAM

The Ryzen 5 9600X released back in August 2024, and it’s a newer, budget-friendly option for anyone looking to build an AM5 gaming PC. You’re not getting an absolute tonne of cores and threads here, or AMD’s X3D v-cache, but it does do the job well if you’re going for a low to mid-tier setup. We tested and reviewed this CPU a while ago, and noted that for its MSRP it needed to deliver a bit more. Now that it’s significantly under $200, we think it gives you great bang for your buck.

As for the RAM, Team Group always delivers when it comes to both performance and affordability, so this is a real win here. You’re getting 16GB of DDR5, which is more than enough for a build based around this CPU. RAM speeds are good, it’s got RGB, and has looks to kill…all that for free? What more can you ask for?
