Newly-released Stellar Blade jumps into top 21 most-played games on Steam Deck, just two days after launch
Table of Contents
Having been released just two days ago on the 11th of June, Stellar Blade has already been a hit on Steam. Climbing the ranks, even with a mid-week release, according to Steam’s own chart of Steam Deck’s top played, it has reached number 21, already so close to reaching the top 20.
According to the SteamDB charts, the game reached a peak of 183,830 players on Thursday, the day following its release. That number places it at number 89 among all-time peak players on Steam as well. Considering it’s the first weekend, we’d expect that number to grow as well, when more players will get a chance to jump into the game and log some hours.

Although that doesn’t identify how many are playing on the SteamDeck itself, it is rated to work well on the handheld with a verified rating. As we tested, the game runs fairly well on the handheld, with a more standard console experience, averaging 30 FPS. That gives it the great benefit of more people wanting to play on the device and boosts it even higher.
Will it continue to grow?
As mentioned, with the weekend ahead, you can expect the game to get a boost in player count when many will have plenty more time to play it. With a healthy number of mods popping up for it on Nexus Mods already, even before it had released, there’s plenty of opportunity to improve the gameplay and enjoyment from the game that might give more gamers a reason to play it.
The reviews on Steam reinforce it as a top pick for picking up as well. With over 7,700 overwhelmingly positive reviews, it’s a well-endorsed game that, alongside the shop banner and top spots in Steam’s charts, makes it ripe for picking up and playing. Even with the $60/£60 price, it hasn’t been off-putting enough for the over 180,000 players.
If it wants to climb to the top 50, it does have a bit of a hill to climb. With that spot taken by the First Descendant, which peaked with 264,860 players, Stellar Blade needs another 81,000 players to get to that spot. Even without that, though, it has become the top-published game apart from Helldivers 2.
