Table of Contents
During CES 2025, Nvidia announced four RTX 50-series cards. However, they only revealed mid and high-end models, leaving many users wondering about the budget options. Now, after months of waiting, Nvidia has officially announced the RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti, which will serve as the budget cards in the latest series.
The company has also revealed its specifications, pricing, and release date. There’s no official word on a potential 5050 card year, so these are the cheapest options in the 50 series so far. Here’s everything you need to know.
RTX 5060 family announced
To begin with, Nvidia has confirmed that there will be two RTX 5060 models. The first one is the standard RTX 5060, offering 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM. Then there’s the RTX 5060 Ti, which will be available in two versions, 8GB and 16GB, just like how it was with the RTX 4060 Ti. However, this time, there’s not a significant price difference between the two models, which we’ll discuss later. For now, you can check out the specifications of all the cards below:

Now, as you can see in the table above, the RTX 5060 Ti offers several improvements over the RTX 5060. However, between the two Ti models, the only difference is the VRAM as everything else is the same.
Now, for those who remember, the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB and 16GB models had a $100 price difference between them. That's not the case this time. Nvidia has confirmed that the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB will launch tomorrow, April 16th, with a price tag of $379. The 16GB model will also launch tomorrow, priced slightly higher at $429. This makes the 16GB version a better overall choice, offering 8GB more VRAM for just $50 more. As for the standard RTX 5060, Nvidia hasn't given a specific release date yet, only that it will launch sometime in May 2025 with a price tag of $299, the same as its predecessor, the RTX 4060.
In any case, make sure to also check out our Where to Buy RTX 5060 Ti page, where we’ve listed all major retailers who will be offering this GPU tomorrow. We’re expecting the demand for the card to be very high, so expect it to be sold out quickly.
