Though analysts and enthusiasts were all fairly certain it was coming, word has leaked out that Nvidia has been briefing parts of the press on its upcoming announcement for the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti desktop graphics cards.
According to information obtained by VideoCardz, three cards will be in the lineup: the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, 5060 Ti 8GB, and 5060 non-Ti. The leak specifies that all three cards will use the same board design and even the same GPU chip.
The RTX 5060 Ti will launch with 4608 CUDA cores, an increase of 6% versus the 4060 Ti. Most of the major improvements are in memory technology, as the new models use GDDR7 rather than the older GDDR6 in the 40 series equivalents. If, as most experts assume, Nvidia uses 28 Gbps memory speed, this will equate to 50% more bandwidth than the previous generation versions.
RTX 5060 sticks with 8GB of VRAM
The RTX 5060, meanwhile, the RTX 5060 is said to have 3840 CUDA cores and 8GB of VRAM. This is a 25% improvement in CUDA cores. Many PC gaming fans are disappointed that Nvidia hasn’t upped the available VRAM in the new model, especially in light of the other difficulties Nvidia has seen with the RTX 50 series launch.
Users will be able to benefit from low TDP, however. The lower-end models are said to draw only between 150-180W, while the higher-end models may get as high as 200W. The leaks suggest that the RTX 5060 series is due to launch in April, with the official announcement due tomorrow, March 13, as part of the run-up to GDC, the Games Development Conference.
