Nvidia GeForce Now has come to Firefox on Windows, giving users another way to access the cloud gaming service without having to switch browsers or download the standalone GFN app. Mozilla and Nvidia have been working on the integration for several months, and the feature is now officially available.

According to Mozilla, Firefox users can now stream more than 2,000 PC games through GeForce Now. Since the games run in the cloud, players don’t need to download or install them on their computers, nor do they need to upgrade their hardware to run demanding titles. With Nvidia’s top Ultimate subscription, gamers have access to RTX 5080-level performance.

Cloud gaming directly from your Firefox browser

While there is a dedicated GeForce Now app, the service is also available to play directly through your browser. Nvidia says browser-based cloud gaming can be challenging because it requires the browser to handle things such as real-time input and video streaming with very low delays. According to Mozilla, bringing GeForce Now to Firefox took months of engineering work between the two companies to make sure the service delivers the experience Nvidia expects from a supported browser.

Firefox is officially joining GeForce NOW’s lineup of available platforms, with users now able to access over 5000 games from their browser.

This collaboration has been months in the making between Mozilla and NVIDIA, and is now available for use on the latest version of the Firefox browser.

Firefox also offers several features that may come in handy while gaming. Players can keep other activities open alongside their game, such as a Discord call, a game guide, or Reddit, and Firefox’s Split View can make multitasking easier. Once you’re ready to focus entirely on the game, you can switch to full-screen mode.

Another advantage is that GeForce Now supports games from several major PC storefronts. Depending on availability, users can connect libraries from Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, Xbox PC Game Pass, and Ubisoft Connect and stream supported games they already own or have access to.

For Firefox users who want to try the service, Mozilla says they simply need to update to the latest version of Firefox, visit play.geforcenow.com, and sign in with their GeForce Now account. Nvidia is also expected to share more information about its partnership with Mozilla during Gamescom on August 25, so we should learn even more about GeForce Now on Firefox soon.
