You may remember that Portal with RTX came to Steam for free a while back, providing each and every test chamber with a full tracing makeover. Well, now the same treatment is being applied to one of Valve’s other classic FPS games, Half-Life 2. This comes several years after Quake II got the same treatment and HL2 RTX seems to be just around the corner.
Better yet, Nvidia is involved with the project as it giving away a custom-wrapped GeForce RTX 4080 Super, a GPU which will no doubt go down well if you plan on playing through HL2 again with RTX on. You can take a look at Half-Life 2 RTX on the Steam store right now, it is listed as ‘coming soon’ and will be available as a free DLC for any owners of HL2.
Half-Life 2 RTX is coming soon on Steam
