Nvidia on top of German GPU market, RTX 4080 Super claims the most sales in the past week

Table of Contents
Nvidia has cemented its position as the dominant force in the German GPU market, with its RTX 40 Super series significantly outselling AMD’s RX 7000 series. According to recent sales data from Mindfactory, Germany’s largest PC hardware retailer, Nvidia GPUs accounted for over 56% of all GPU sales, while AMD captured 42.58%.
The RTX 4080 Super emerged as the most popular model, followed by the RTX 4070 Super and RTX 4070 Ti Super. AMD’s RX 7800 XT, despite being a strong performer, only managed to secure the fourth spot. These stats are relevant to week 37 (September 9th to September 15th).

Why is Nvidia on top?
Nvidia’s success can be attributed to several factors, including the strong RTX ecosystem, which offers a wide range of software optimizations and features. Additionally, the RTX 40 Super series has made it highly competitive compared to AMD’s offerings, with the Super refresh – particularly the 4080 Super providing better value for money than the original cards. And let’s face it, Team Green has long been the more popular choice for gamers.
While AMD’s RX 7800 XT is undoubtedly a compelling competition, Nvidia’s flagship RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 Super have proven to be particularly attractive to enthusiasts seeking the highest capable performance. These models, generally priced above €1,000, (the Super can drop just below) have consistently outperformed AMD’s counterparts, including their own flagships like the Radeon RX 7900 XTX. While the 4090 has fallen off in these new sales stats, the 4080 Super has picked up the slack.
AMD’s response
AMD, however, is not without its own plans. The company has recently announced its transition to the RDNA 4 architecture, which is designed to target the mainstream and mid-range market. By focusing on these price points, AMD hopes to increase its market share and attract a wider audience of gamers and creatives.
If we look ahead, the GPU market is poised for even more intense competition in 2025. Nvidia is expected to launch its Blackwell RTX 50 series, while AMD will unveil its Radeon RX 8000 series. And who knows, Intel is also expected to make significant strides with its Battlemage architecture – meaning we could have a three-horse race for the top spot (sales-wise).
