While the average “eBay valuation” seems to be around $3,000, one RTX 5090 (the ASUS Astral OC) has sold for $6,190 after receiving 19 bids. Other listings have seen the card sold outright for $3,200, suggesting that demand for this card is going to be incredibly high.
Whether the listing is actually legitimate is yet to be known, that said, it still showcases that individuals are willing to pay well above the odds for this GPU. The ASUS Atral OC card in question is one of the most expensive AIBs out there – we’ve even seen the 5080 variant selling for almost as much as 5090 from online retailers.
RTX 5090 receives praise from the community
The review embargo was recently lifted for the RTX 5090 and the majority of the community responded positively to the card. In fact, the biggest drawbacks from the industry’s leading reviewers were regarding power draw and pricing. Obviously, the latter isn’t too much of a concern to some individuals.
The highly-anticipated GPU will be live in the US, UK, and Europe from January 30th, meaning there’s only a week to go before you’ll be able to get your hands on one – if you’re lucky that is.
As you can see, demand looks set to be incredibly high for the upcoming launch and retailers are already suggesting availability is very limited. The chance of getting a Founders Edition is, let’s be honest, incredibly slim. If you’re willing to pay almost three times the cost, however, eBay is always a fallback.
