Odin 3 price increase announced by AYN for the third time, now up to $110 more expensive than original launch
Table of Contents
AYN has been selling the Odin 3 in ‘pre-order’ batches since it launched late last year, now up to batch 8. The Android-based OLED handheld is currently available in three models – the Base, Pro, and Max (as the Ultra variant has been discontinued and remains out of stock). Today, AYN has announced a price hike for all three in-stock models, starting September 1.
The Odin 3 handheld has had its price increased multiple times, and back in April, some of its hardware was downgraded to help combat memory and storage shortages (and therefore higher production costs). It feels like the value is only getting worse with each new batch, as the latest price hike tacks on an additional $20 or $30 to the cost, depending on the model.
Price increases for the Odin 3 Base, Pro, and Max models
Starting September 1, the Odin 3 Base and Odin 3 Pro will be getting a $20 price increase, while the Odin 3 Max jumps $30. This means the Max model is now a total of $110 more expensive than its very first $419 price tag.

The table below explains the full list of price updates for the Odin 3, now up to four in total (or three if we’re only counting hikes).

As seen in the Discord announcement above, AYN points to increasing Qualcomm chipset prices (which also affected the Retroid Pocket Nova) and ongoing issues with memory and storage costs, in the form of DRAM and UFS. While it’s not a major increase at first glance, these hikes have all been adding up, especially when faced with competition from the likes of the Retroid Pocket 6.
