Finding the right accessories for your ASUS ROG Ally helps enhance the gaming experience, and it’s often hard to resist a sale. We’ve seen the official ROG Ally charger dock go on sale several times in recent months, to the point where it would be foolish to buy it at full price. Anyway, it’s back on sale at Best Buy and costs just $29.99 at the time of writing – but is there anything else out there?
Having a look around for alternatives also led us to find the Insignia ROG Ally Docking Station, which is also on sale at the moment. It currently costs $13 more than the ASUS dock, but it does boast some extra features such as an ethernet port and an actual stand, making it more of a conventional docking station.

ASUS – ROG 65W Charger Dock
A more than 50% discount on the official charger dock is a common occurrence at Best Buy, offering great value for money if you require a dock for your ROG Ally. It offers a pretty simple design, with three ports: HDMI, USB-A, and USB-C. This allows you to keep your device charged and lets you connect to an external display via HDMI, plus room for a controller or other USB device.
ASUS also rolled out a firmware update earlier this year which supports a wider range of USB-C devices such as the Nintendo Switch. Usually priced at $64.99, it now only costs $29.99.
Insignia’s ROG Ally docking station is a great alternative
Insignia – ROG Ally Docking Station
Moving on to a third-party choice from Insignia, which offers a more complete package. First off, it’s more of a dock in the sense that it comes with a stand to place your ROG Ally in, whereas the official accessory is more akin to an adapter. On top of that, this Insignia docking station is more versatile thanks to three USB-A ports and the addition of an ethernet port – giving you access to a more reliable wired connection. It is more expensive though, now $42.99, down from the usual $79.99 price tag.
If you want more connectivity and a neat stand to put your device in, then the Insignia Dock Station is what you’re after. There are even enough ports for a keyboard and mouse setup. Much like the official dock, it is also compatible with other handhelds such as the Steam Deck and Legion Go.
