Palworld devs confirm price isn’t changing in version 1.0 as it leaves early access, and it’s still 30% off right now
Palworld version 1.0 is launching tomorrow, marking the end of the early access period. The game has been available to users for more than two years, carrying an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ user review rating on Steam. It has been subject to its fair share of hardships, mainly in the face of Nintendo’s lawyers, but its momentum is due to kick up a notch come the end of EA.
Well, technically it launches on July 10 at developers Pocketpair’s studio in Japan, leaving early access at 12:30 PM JST, which translates to 10:30 PM Pacific Time on July 9 in the United States. Pockpair’s publishing lead has already claimed that much of the game is going to change in version 1.0, so players can look forward to a ton of new content once the update arrives.
Price remains unchanged despite previous plans – and it’s currently on sale
At the time of writing, a statement on the game’s Steam store page still reads: “The price of the game may increase at or closer to the official release.” Now we know that this definitely isn’t the case. In a post to Palworld’s official X account, the developers say they’re keeping the price at $29.99 as “a small way of saying thank you” to the community.

As you can see from the snapshot above, the game is also featured in Steam’s annual summer sale, where it is currently 30% off. The summer sale will be coming to a close on July 9, just ahead of the version 1.0 release, so don’t miss out on this discount if you’re looking to jump into Palworld for the first time.
The developers also recently celebrated passing 40 million players in a video (above) highlighting all the things that have changed since it originally released in January 2024. Head of Publishing & Communications John “Bucky” Buckley talks the viewers through all the major updates they may have missed since they last played.
Palworld had a massive launch with over 2 million concurrent players (according to SteamDB) before slowing down considerably, though it still maintains a healthy player base. We imagine that Pockpair hopes – and probably expects – the big version 1.0 release to boost those numbers up yet again.
