Shipping data publicly visible on NBD Data shows new Samsung laptops, which have been identified by the code numbers in the cargo description, to contain some of the new Intel Panther Lake processors. Back at the beginning of the year, it was believed that these CPUs would be landing in the second half of 2025, but with a few months of the year left, some were wondering whether this would turn out to be true or not.

Well, not long ago at IFA Berlin 2025, Acer showed off its new Panther Lake-powered Acer Swift Air 16 laptop, and this information shows that the Samsung laptop(s) are also possibly hitting the shelves between now and the end of the year.

The shipping data from NBD Data was pointed out by @x86deadandback on X, highlighting the BGA2540 packaging that has previously been identified for Panther Lake mobile chips.

What are Intel Core Ultra Panther Lake processors? The SKU names explained

Navigating Intel processor naming conventions is a bit of a nightmare, even compared to the nomenclature changes AMD has made over the last few years. Back in 2023, Intel Core Ultra CPUs differed from Intel Core ones in that they were chiefly designed for mobile devices (primarily laptops), with stronger NPUs for AI processing and a focus on energy efficiency (meaning longer battery life). Intel Core processors were based on an older architecture but are often more powerful than their Core Ultra cousins in terms of the number of cores and processing speeds, being primarily meant for desktops. Since 2024, however, with the Intel Core Ultra 200 Series release, all of the new ranges for both desktops and laptops have been called Ultra.

Adding to the confusion further, the generations of Intel Core Ultra processors are often referred to by different names, with the latest Intel Core Ultra 300 Series also being called ‘3rd generation Intel Core Ultra’ or ‘Intel Core Ultra 3 Series’ by different people. Within the Intel Core 300 Series, the majority are referred to by the name ‘Panther Lake‘, although the very low-end ones meant for very lightweight, entry-level devices will be called ‘Wildcat Lake‘.

Finally, Intel also adds suffixes (i.e. letters on the end) of their mobile processors to signify their power level. Some of the most common are: ‘-H‘, which typically signifies the more powerful mobile processors, with ‘-U‘ being the less powerful, more energy efficient options meant for general productivity notebooks, etc. Although we’ve not seen them yet, -HX also exists for those even more powerful than the -H models. Intel Core Ultra 300 Series specs

Taking all the above into consideration, the following table details what we know about each of the processor SKUs based on both leaks and official information (sourced via pcgameshardware.de and videocardz.com). The Panther Lake processors will all apparently use the new Intel 18A process node, plus PowerVia and RibbonGET technology.
