AMD recently launched the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 on March 6, positioning them as mid-range GPUs with a great price-to-performance ratio. The official launch prices were $549 for the RX 9070 and $599 for the RX 9070 XT, with some third-party models costing slightly more. However, despite AMD's assurances to not worry about price hikes, they have already started to rise.

AMD's Frank Azor visited a Micro Center store in Miami, where he met fans and talked about the high demand for the RX 9070 series. He assured buyers that more stock would arrive in the coming days and weeks and that AMD would continue to encourage retailers to stick to MSRP pricing. However, despite his promises, there were reports that prices will only continue to rise.

A Swedish retailer, Inet, was among the first to reveal that MSRP pricing only applied to the first shipment of each model. This meant that once the initial stock sold out, prices would go up. Unfortunately, this is exactly what has happened, as retailers are now listing the RX 9070 series at higher prices.

The Verge has been keeping track of price changes and has noticed that several retailers have already raised the prices of RX 9070 GPUs while they’re out of stock. Here are some of the biggest price jumps:

The Radeon RX 9070 series was supposed to offer great performance at an affordable price, but the current stock situation is driving up prices. Even though AMD promised more stock, scalpers and retailers are taking advantage of the demand, pushing prices well above MSRP.
