Razer has just launched a new version of their popular BlackShark headset today, geared towards esports enthusiasts and equipped with high-end specs that deliver top-of-the-line performance. The full range of headsets, which includes the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro, BlackShark V3, and BlackShark X Hyerspeed, will be available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5.

Originally launched in 2012, Razer’s BlackShark gaming headset has evolved through numerous iterations over the years, all geared towards top-level gaming. The latest version, the V3, takes things to the next level, offering up industry-first technology that should result in an excellent gaming experience.

Just launched on July 29, 2025, the BlackShark V3 Pro is the flagship model – featuring all the hottest new tech the brand has to offer. Alongside it, Razer will also launch the BlackShark V3 and BlackShark X Hyperspeed – cheaper alternatives that don’t offer all the bells and whistles of the Pro variant. All versions will be available for PC, Xbox, and PS5.

Razer BlackShark V3: At a glance

  • Release date: July 29th, 2025
  • Price: V3 Pro £249.99/$249.99/€269.99 | V3 £149.99/$149.99/€169.99 | V3 X Hyperspeed £99.99/$99.99/€119.99
  • World’s fastest wireless gaming headset technology – Razer HyperSpeed wireless Gen-2 – 10ms

  • Hybrid ANC that can be fine-tuned to any use case
  • Razer TriForce Bio-Cullulose 50 mm Drivers Gen-2
  • Razer’s first simultaneous 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth audio headset
  • New THX Spatial Audio 7.1.4 (only available on PC)
  • Pro-Tuned FPS Audio profiles available

While not much has changed from an aesthetic standpoint, the BlackShark V3 has plenty to offer in technical advancements. The Pro version will now feature: Razer TriForce Bio-Cellulose 50 mm Drivers Gen-2, Hyperspeed Wireless Gen-2 technology, HyperClear Full band 12 mm mic, and THX Spatial Audio 7.1.4 surround sound (in the PC model).

That’s right, I said 7.1.4 surround sound. The 4 in the 7.1.4. refers to height spatial awareness – with Razer adding 4 virtual speakers above your head to help expand your soundstage, vertically. I haven’t had the pleasure of testing the THX 7.1.4 surround sound just yet, but it’s arguable the feature I’m most looking forward to experiencing.

As you can imagine, Razer has been quick to highlight their industry achievements in this headset (specifically in the Wireless latency department) through their marketing materials – highlighting the V3’s performance gains over the likes of Logitech, HyperX, SteelSeries, and Turtle Beach.

The V3 Pro model will also feature a new HyperClear Full Band 12 mm Microphone (detachable), which features a larger capsule size that offers better detail and depth, alongside a sampling rate of 48 kHz – delivering incredibly precise audio quality.
