Retroid is getting ready to launch a dual-screen handheld in the form of the Retroid Pocket Duo, and those who pre-ordered the device won’t have to wait much longer. The company has confirmed that shipments for its dual-screen handheld will officially begin on October 21, meaning units will start heading to customers next week.

The Pocket Duo uses a clamshell design with two displays, putting it in the same category as devices such as the AYN Thor and Ayaneo Pocket DS. However, one of its biggest highlights is that both screens are OLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate. The main 5.5-inch display offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080, while the smaller 4.5-inch screen runs at 1280 x 960.

Inside, the handheld is powered by the Qualcomm Q-7790 processor paired with an Adreno 722 GPU. It also comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, with a TF card slot available for users who need additional space. The device runs Android 16, so it can be used for Android games as well as other supported gaming and emulation applications.

Retroid has also equipped the Pocket Duo with active cooling to help keep temperatures under control during longer gaming sessions. Power comes from a 6,000mAh battery with support for 27W charging. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4, while the USB 3.1 Type-C port supports DisplayPort output at up to 4K 60Hz. A 3.5mm headphone jack is included as well.

The Pocket Duo is currently listed at $269, and buyers can choose between black, purple, 16-bit gray, green, and a translucent lilac option. Retroid has also extended its $20 pre-order discount until October 31, so the offer will remain available even after shipments begin. However, to get the discount, make sure to use the code ‘DUO’ during checkout.
