Back in April, Nvidia announced the RTX 5060 Ti and the 5060, but the latter wasn’t available until now, following its launch alongside Computex 2025. The GeForce RTX 5060 starts at $299 and features 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM, along with 3,840 CUDA cores across 30 Streaming Multiprocessors. Once again, Nvidia claims that the GPU can do some pretty incredible things, saying it can hit 223 FPS in Doom: The Dark Ages, but that is with multi-frame generation.

Now, due to RTX 5060 reviews being set back by issues, we aren’t sure just how well the GPU actually performs or how much it lives up to Nvidia’s performance claims. We also know there’s a bit of controversy around how the 5060 is being presented, with reviewers like Gamers Nexus being asked to change their “editorial direction.” But despite Nvidia’s attempts to control the narrative, it seems like the public has already made up its mind, for now.

Just 12% of our readers are interested in the RTX 5060

We recently ran a poll asking our readers which RTX 5060 series graphics card they’re most interested in among the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, 5060 Ti 8GB, and the RTX 5060. And results suggest that there’s hardly any interest in the RTX 5060. At the time of writing, the RTX 5060 has only received 72 votes out of a total of 600, with the majority going toward the 16GB variant of the RTX 5060 Ti.

Now, much like the RTX 5060, the 8GB variant of the RTX 5060 Ti is barely on anyone’s shopping list. Interestingly, some reviewers have already dubbed the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB variant “instantly obsolete” and our poll showed just 2% of users were interested. So perhaps the low VRAM is what makes gamers ignore the 5060, too. Modern AAA titles are becoming more demanding, and we’ve seen that 8GB of VRAM is barely enough in games like Doom: The Dark Ages and The Last of Us Part II Remastered.

That said, it’s better to wait for full reviews before giving a final verdict on the RTX 5060, as it is framed as a fantastic 1080p card aimed at users with older GPUs who have yet to upgrade. Nvidia has said the 5060 series is for gamers still using a GTX card. It’s also important to note that people’s budgets are likely the main reason behind opting for the non-Ti card, and that cannot easily be reflected from a user poll.
