RTX 5070 graphics card drops below MSRP for the first time, 5080 also falls in price

The supply constraints on Nvidia's new RTX 50 series of graphics cards have led to soaring prices. Now it seems that the initial wave of demand has eased, and prices are at last coming down. At least for some customers.
In the UK, the MSRP of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 is £539, but some models have now been spotted in UK retailers selling for under this price, giving hope for British customers that prices might fall into the affordable range.
As spotted by KitGuru, popular UK electronics retailer Overclockers has one model of RTX 5070 that has fallen to £519, a 4% decrease against the original MSRP. The model in question is a Gainward Phantom III. This is a lower-end model with very few bells and whistles that usually sells for a price very close to the MSRP. Notably, this is also the non-OC version, which is a highly unusual sight outside of pre-built PCs.
Exchange rates between USD and GBP have remained fairly stable, and the MSRP has not changed significantly, marking this price as a low benchmark that could perhaps set a trend for other models to follow.
No sign of price drops for the RTX 5090
For the UK market, there are no signs of flagship cards like the RTX 5090 dropping in price, and certainly not heading beneath the MSRP. The RTX 5070 Ti lacks a reference card, so its MSRP is dictated more by board partners, with Nvidia not able to offer an MSRP model of its own.
Things remain uncertain on the other side of the Atlantic. The looming trade tariffs have caused a great deal of anxiety for consumers. Several components have seen price hikes, including massive increases for the RTX 5090, as retailers brace for the turmoil caused by tariffs.
For now, at least, the UK appears to be getting a better deal on graphics cards.
